MAIN PURPOSE
To provide a first class service to the Group`s new and existing customers, introducers, sales channels, and clients, in the servicing of new mortgage applications. Apply group lending*underwriting policies and procedures, and assess commercial risk decisions on applications and referrals received within the New Business Processing team.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Underwriting decisions on applications and referrals within defined mandate limits and agreed departmental service standards, ensuring that correct mortgage conditions are documented on the offer of advance. - Effectively manage general underwriting enquiries from customer, sales channels, introducers and clients. - Ensure an up to date understanding of the Group`s lending and Higher Lending Charge criteria. - Assessment*processing of new mortgage applications received from Introduced channels. - Case management*ownership of applications*customer from application submission through to funding. - To support and give advice to Customer Support Co-ordinators. - To be proactive in training and developing Customer Support Co-ordinators. - Liaise with appropriate parties (e.g. solicitors, valuers and introducers) to ensure information is obtained to enable an informed lending decision, whilst not compromising credit quality. - Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and internal procedures. - Provide input to ongoing development and roll out of Department efficiency gains. - Proactively offer and sell the Society`s general insurance products to customers to ensure the introducer desk achieves the targets set. - Flexibility regarding working hours to ensure the introducer desk`s core hours of 8.30a.m. till 6.00p.m. are covered. - Provide information to introducers on the products and services the Society offers.
MANDATE LIMIT
- Level A - Ј100,000 up to 95% LTV.
- Level B (after 6 months of exercising mandate) - Ј175,000 up to 95% LTV, and Ј200,000 up to 80% LTV.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent. - Proven track record within a customer service*lending environment, preferably with a previous lending mandate. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate confidently, by telephone, with customers and third parties, regarding servicing issues and underwriting decisions.
